Welcome to the online home of the Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society. The Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society was organized to promote the interest and education in the various earth sciences, mineralogy and to foster the exchange of knowledge in lapidary techniques. Today's club evolved from the Prospector's Club, a group formed in 1932, which reorganized in 1947 to become the Clark County Gem Collectors. The Clark County Club was officially incorporated in 1950. The year 1970 brought a second club to Las Vegas which would be known as the Las Vegas Gem Club. In January of 2003, the Clark County Gem Collectors and the Las Vegas Gem Club voted to merge the two clubs, becoming the Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society. |
